Bar Chart With Days Name
I have the following problem For the data below, I want to create a bar chart that gives the total hours for each day on the Y-axis, and dates on the X-axis. Currently, the chart displays the bars, but they overlap. That is, for 525 there is a bar that ends at 3 hours, 5 hours, and 6 hours.
On the Insert tab of the ribbon, insert a Stacked Bar Chart. It looks wrong, but don't worry. On the Design tab of the ribbon, click Select Data. You don't want Serial No as a series, so select it and click Remove. Click Edit under Horizontal Category Axis Labels, and select A2A7. Then click OK.

Select A1G4 and as I think you are on the right lines with a Stacked Bar chart click that. Then click in the Plot area, Select Data and Switch RowColumn. Select each series colour in turn and format to suit which probably means No fill for the first series.
I want to display the duration of my projects in a chart using the dates quarters. I tried using the date data but the chart does not display the way I want. I was able to display the data using the actual duration data but that doesn't map to the quarters.

Below the bar charts is a line chart. The date scale is horizontal, which is more natural for humans to understand. The thin bars are replaced by markers, which are easier to see. Multiple points on the same day are represented by multiple markers, so they don't obscure each other as in the bar chart.
