Pule is a reputable and dynamic private equity investor and his company is one of Botswana's internationally recognised and largest equity investment firms. At a ceremony to celebrate acquisition and rebranding of Aon Botswana this week, he explained the role of private equity investment to the development of the country.

Originally from Botswana, Bame Pule is the CEO and founder of the private equity company Africa Lighthouse Capital, which is based in Johannesburg. He has previously worked at Goldman Sachs, ShoreView Capital and Actis and has worked in private equity in Africa since 2006. He holds a MBA from Harvard Business School.

Pule was responding to a question from the panel moderator, Naledi Madala, who is an Economist at Barclays Bank Botswana. She noted that alternative financing, like private equity and venture capital, are on the rise, comparing them to public equity, and asked Pule if these funding methods would play a bigger role in future.
