Cad Line Type Arrows

In AutoCAD LT, type in the command name STYLE. Create a NEW style, name it quotWingdingsquot, and assign it the font quotWingdings.ttfquot After the new textstyle has been created, type in the command name quotLINETYPEquot, click the LOAD button, click the FILE button, browse to the file you edited, find the linetype name in the list, highlight it, press OK.

Hi I have created a directional flow arrow head linetype based on what I could source on the net. All works well for linespolylines as long as arcs are drawn in the anti-clockwise direction. The moment an arc flow path, say for truck movement within a depot site, is drawn clockwise, what seems to be below the 0 to 180 degree middle line, the arrows are displayed pointing in the wrong

If you use a shape which includes the line part of the arrow, then that shape is the linetype. When it goes round a curve, the line within the shape does not curve, and so the linetype shows as your image. You should just have the arrow head as the shape and leave the line part to AutoCAD, and then you could go around curves in a more seemly

Careful of the spelling -- the name of the font is WINGDINGS and there are some others with number suffixes added, but in various Messages here it has been spelled in various incorrect ways. But it doesn't really matter what you call the Style to which you assign a font you can call it MickeyMouse if you want, as long as you use the same spelling of the Style name in the linetype

Hi, I having a few problems, I'm trying to create an Arrow Linetype or linestyle, but when I use the following code within a .lin file I get a string on dots along with the arrows. And when that same line goes around an arch or curve the arrows curve off centre- I don't know what this is happening. Another problem, the arrows are one size in model space relevant to drawing and much smaller

The documentation for linetype definitions is in the AutoCAD help files. Surprisingly complete. Personally, I try to avoid using shape files ltype.shx in linetypes, they seem brittle. For our flowline definitions I used angle brackets instead, just tweak the positioning by making small adjustments and reloading the linetype repeatedly.

We use AutoCAD's Swis 721 Lt BT as it is both compact and easily readable. It only substitutes Unicode characters like quot92U25BAquot in Mtext not Dtext or Linetype definitions, while others like quot92U2022quot used for solid dot work fine. I have used an Arial text style for when needed. Sad that Complex Linetypes came out one version before Mtext.

The Truetype font Arial Arial.ttf is one of such fonts - and Arial is the default font used in the predefined style quotStandardquot in newer versions of AutoCAD. So we can avoid referring a specific style in the linetype definition, and first of all avoid creating the specific style in all drawings which should use the newly defined linetype.
