Cape Point is a promontory at the southeast corner of the Cape Peninsula, a mountainous and scenic landform that runs north-south for about thirty kilometres at the extreme southwestern tip of the African continent in South Africa. Table Mountain and the city of Cape Town are close to the northern extremity of the same peninsula.

Cape Point is a scenic promontory at the southeast corner of the Cape Peninsula, near the Cape of Good Hope. It has a new lighthouse, a funicular, a national park, and is the site of a Global Atmosphere Watch station.

The entrance gate to this section of the park is about 1-hour drive from the centre of Cape Town, and it takes another 20 minutes to drive to Cape Point. Cape Point. Hike along the most south-westerly point in Africa, taking in the beautiful seaside cliffs, beaches and pristine fynbos. Refer to the map for directions. Entrance is charged to enter the Cape of Good Hope reserve but conservation fees are waivered with a valid Wild Card and proof of ID.
