That is, they display as balloons only and the comment appears when I click on the balloon. I want to display them as above, i.e. in a list underneath each other. If so, this may causes comments collapsed, I suggest you go to Advanced Track Changes Options dialog box, increase the quotPreferred widthquot measurement for balloons. If there are few comments, I suggest you copy document content, minus the final paragraph, into a new document.

From your description, it seems that the UI of comments in your Word document has been changed, and you want to revert back to old UI. If my understanding is right, the situation you encountered is modern comments, and you can go to File gt Options, General gt clear the checkbox next to Enable modern comments, as shown below
