Compressed Folder Showing Up As File
Been seeing an issue lately were different clients get a zipped folder via a download, could be onedrive or dropbox using windows 10 pro. The folder will show it has data, and you can see files and folders while it is still zipped. Once the folder is extracted it shows 0 data and you can only see folders and no files at all.
I am getting empty folder on unzipping a zip file using Windows Explorer but I am able to extract files from the same zip using any third party tool like 7-zip or WinZip. Have tried all the possible solutions like enabling quotShow hidden filesquot, running SFC scan and DISM scan but nothing seems to be working.
If you install an app such as 7zip or Winzip, it will establish file associations and they will show up as files with file type 'zip file', rather than folders . I have 7zip installed.. Thanks for your response. Yes, I have the problem with any compressed file. I don't see any warnings. Just a message quotthis folder is emptyquot in the destination file. I have considered using a third party unpacking tool such as Win-rar. I thought I would post my question in the hopes of fixing windows file explorer.
