4. Now you can merge the changes. The copies of the original workbook whose changes you want to merge must not be open in Excel and must have different file names. My co worker has a spreadsheet she updates everyday. It is on a folder on her OneDrive which is shared with me. If I open the file in the webapp I see the latest file but if i open it on the desktop app I see the file as at 27-Sept-2022. On the desktop app I am unable to make changes and merge with her file. I am using Excel 2019 and Office 365.
On the Quick Access Toolbar, click Compare and Merge Workbooks. If prompted, save the workbook. In the Select Files to Merge into Current Workbook dialog box, click the copy of the workbook that contains the changes you want to merge. To merge multiple copies at the same time, hold down Ctrl or Shift and click the file names, then click OK.
I'm the only user of my Excel xlsm file and it's hosted on OneDrive mirrored with My Documents folder. It seems to indicate that the OneDrive copy is not synched with the local copy. By fact I see the local copy in a quotSync pendingquot status in File Explorer despite OneDrive indicates that quotYour files are syncedquot !.

To merge Microsoft Excel files together, it is best to save them as CSV files first. Open the Excel files and in the menu bar, click File, Save As. In the Save as type drop-down list, select CSV comma delimited from the list. Do this for each Excel file you want to merge, then place all the CSV files in the same folder.
