So I bought an XL7 in 25-06 shortly after they came out, did a 1,000 yard post here with it. I have noticed similar issues with my Marlin XL7 in 270 Win. It is a little picky about how you load the magazine, but like Twins said, if I load the rounds slightly forward and then push them rearward until they stop, if works fine.
