grammable, read-only memory OTP EPROM organized as 128K by 8 bits. Thedevice requires only one 5V power supply in normal read mode operation. Any byte can be accessed in less than 45ns, eliminating the need for speed reducing WAIT states on high-performance microprocessor systems. In read mode, the AT27C010 typically consumes only 8mA.
While the memory contents for a ROM are set at designmanufacturing time, Programmable Read Only memories PROM and more recently One-Time Programmable OTP devices can be programmed after manufacturing making them a lot more flexible. Once programmed, or blown, the contents cannot be changed and the contents are retained after power is removed.
OTP One Time Programmable EPROM OTP is a type of EPROM sold in plastic packaging. Unlike UV EPROMs that have a quartz window in the package above the chip to allow erasure by UV light, OTP Memory cannot be erased once it has been programmed. OTPs are typi-cally programmed by the customer.
An EPROM rarely EROM, or erasable programmable read-only memory, is a type of programmable read-only memory PROM chip that retains its data when its power supply is switched off. Computer memory that can retrieve stored data after a power supply has been turned off and back on is called non-volatile.It is an array of floating-gate transistors individually programmed by an electronic device
of EPROM marketshare. EPROM uses a mature technology and design and is on the decline part of its lifecycle. For this reason there is not a lot of RampD expenditure made for EPROM devices. Figure 9-8 shows a cross section of a 1Mbit EPROM cell from two different manufacturers. The main difference between the processes is the polysilicon gate.
One-Time Programmable OTP EPROM. Figure 5 OTP EPROM. One-time programmable OTP EPROMs differ from UV-EPROMs in that they lack a quartz window, making them non-erasable under normal conditions. This design is intentional, as OTP EPROMs are meant for situations where reprogramming is undesirable. In some rare cases, OTP EPROMs can be erased
One-Time Programmable OTP EPROM technology with fast parallel access times provides secure, unalterable memory for excellent firmware and data protection. 256 Kbit to 8 Mbit with 5V, 3V, and battery-voltage 2.7V options Rapid programming algorithm 100 sbyte
One-Time Programmable OTP memory is used in System-on-Chip SoC designs, offering a reliable and secure way to store data that must remain unchanged throughout the lifecycle of a device. Unlike traditional memories that support multiple write cycles, OTP memory locks in data permanently after a single programming event. This is perfect for embedding sensitive and permanent information such
