A List of Rubik's Cube Algorithms for When You Get Stuck The Rubik's Cube is a widely popular mechanical puzzle that requires a series of movement sequences, or algorithms, in order to be solved. Many of you have likely watched tutorial videos that teach you how to solve the cube, but you don't know or cannot remember those long, boring algorithms.
This video shows how to read moves on the Rubik's Cube so you can follow written algorithms. Below are the 3x3 moves for reference, but keep in mind that there is also different notation for big cubes 4x4 cube and up mentioned in the video. Face Turns The basic moves are Up, Down, Right, Left, Front, Back.

OLL. The OLL algorithms here are numbered using the accepted order found on the speedsolving.com wiki and elsewhere online, so you can always find an alternative to a specific algorithm should you wish. I have chosen these ones because they heavily use three different triggers, which I feel allows for easier memorisation.
Mathematics. Mathematically the Rubik's Cube is a permutation group an ordered list, with 54 fields with 69 values colours on which we can apply operations basic face rotations, cube turns and the combinations of these which reorganize the permutation group according to a pattern.. To describe operations on the Rubik's Cube we use the notation we mark every face of the puzzle with a
If your cube already has the cross, skip this part. Hold the cube so that one of the edges that needs to be flipped is facing you. Then apply this algorithm F R' D' R F2. This algorithm will flip the edge so the white part is facing upwards. Do this for every edge until you have a white cross on top.
Notable Algorithms. Now, let's spice things up a bit and explore some notable algorithms that have left their mark on the Rubik's Cube solving scene. Fridrich Method. Ah, the Fridrich Method, also known as CFOP on steroids. Developed by the legendary Jessica Fridrich, this method revolutionized speedcubing with its focus on intuitive F2L pairs and lightning-fast execution.

the algorithms are performed with the correct front face. For details on how to hold the cube during an algorithm, look at each individual section under Solving the Cube. Here is a list of the eight algorithms for reference. Table Two This table shows the eight algorithms needed to solve the cube. Some may only be used once, and others may
We can get three possible patterns on the top. Use this algorithm to go from one state to the other F R U R' U' F' When you see a dot you have to apply the algorithm three times. If you have a yellow quotLquot shape then onlye twice, holding the cube in your hands as seen on the image below.
