WEST POINT, N.Y. -- Acceptance Day is the day the new cadets will be accepted into the U.S. Corps of Cadets. The Acceptance Day Parade will take place at 10 a.m. Aug. 17 on The Plain. The parade features the entire brigade of approximately 4,400 cadets. Members of the U.S. Military Academy Class of 2028 officially become plebes during the parade.

Class of 2028 cadets are officially welcomed into the U.S. Military Academy Corps of Cadets during the ceremonial Acceptance Day Parade at West Point, N.Y. on Aug. 17, 2024. During the parade, new cadets symbolically march into the formation signifying their acceptance into the Corps of Cadets.

On Monday, new cadets from the U.S. Military Academy Class of 2028 concluded their Cadet Basic Training with a 12-mile road march from Lake Frederick to West Point. Next, they'll be officially accepted into the Corps of Cadets during the Acceptance Day parade scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 17.

Reception Day R-Day marks the beginning of your cadet candidate's 47-month journey at West Point. It's a day filled with pride, tradition, and transition.
