With reports of a ghostly cavalry still reporting for duty, the academy often pops up on most haunted lists. In 2017, 'Thrillist' named West Point the most haunted place in New York and in 2019, 'Start Strong, Stay Strong' ranked West Point as the 5th most haunted military base. Back in 1972, a series of unusual sightings stirred a great deal of interest in West Point's haunted history. The sightings were considered so credible that a psychic was brought in and one barracks room remains empty to this day as a result.

I have always been interested in ghost stories, and since West Point is such an old academy, I was wondering if there was some really compelling ghost stories at the academy. I would also be interested in ghost stories of similar military schools like the VMI or the Citadel. I haven't been able to find much stuff online for some reason.
