An Arduino Nano board uses an MPU6050's gyroscope to monitor pitch and roll. In automatic leveling mode, it makes adjustments until both register as level. There are also two other modes lift and manual. Lift raises and lowers the entire top, like a standing desk. Manual lets Firth Fabrications tilt the table in any way he wishes using a
Using an interpolation lookup only takes a few lines of code and reduces the size of the lookup table by a factor of 100 compared to the 'brute force' approach. Since the brute force approach also needs you to work out and type in those 1000 values, the brute force approach doesn't look remotely attractive to me. CrossRoads August 16, 2012, 7
The Arduino has a built in 5v regulator but If you are using a power supply greater than 12 volts you will need a DC to DC convertor to safely power the Arduino. Online they go for 2 or 3 and a couple bucks more, you will get you one with a display. That s it. The total bill for the electronics should be under 35 Canadian pesos.
